This session focuses on the importance of getting adult buy-in for both academic and behavioral interventions. Specifically, this session will provide support to administrators in helping to understand adult learning through behavior skills training. The session will also include an opportunity for Q&A regarding the topic.

Dr. Allan Allday, BCBA-D, started Spero Behavioral Coaching and Supports, LLC after a 20-year career as a professor. He currently works to help teachers, administrators, and parents learn how to change challenging behaviors that children may be exhibiting. Since starting his company, Dr. Allday has served over 40 schools and several hundred classrooms, providing professional development through observations and feedback, as well as information Q&As related to specific behaviors of concern teachers are facing. While a professor, Dr. Allday taught courses focused on issues associated with improving adult responses to challenging behavior and published over 40 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, mostly related to helping adults improve their skills related to behavior change. He has over 225 conference and workshop presentations related to the topic of challenging behavior. Spero Behavioral Coaching and Supports, LLC was started because the need for solutions to the behavioral issues teachers are facing require equipping practicing teachers with the skills needed to address challenging behaviors effectively.
